Managing the Labour Library

Categories, shift, rate type, and base rate for labour records.

The Labour Library holds base rates for labour records like Mason, Carpenter, or Helper - the other input Rate Analysis uses alongside materials. CATBOQ ships with a curated list of common Indian labour records out of the box, grouped into categories (Skilled Labour, Semi Skilled Labour, Unskilled Labour, Operator, Supervisor, Engineer, Technician), so you rarely need to start from scratch.

  1. 1Go to Master Data → Labour.
  2. 2Click + Add Labour to add your own, or edit an existing record - set its category, shift hours, rate type (Per Day/Per Hour/Per Shift), and base rate.
  3. 3Use the search box or the Category/Status/Rate Type filters to quickly find a record.
  4. 4If you've deleted or edited default records and want the original set back, use Restore Default Labour Master - it only recreates records that are genuinely missing, without touching anything you've customized.
Tip: Productivity (how much output a labour type produces per day) isn't set here - it varies by the specific item of work, so it's entered in Rate Analysis when you add a labour component.
